During the test drive the 24 year old lost control, rolled the car and left me for dead in the passenger seat whilst he fled the scene. When paramedics arrived I was pronounced dead but luckily I was later revived. I have since made a miraculous recovery, although I did suffer a brain injury and am scarred for life. The man was later found and his true age discovered, this made my insurance claim null and void and unfortunately he escaped with very little charges.
This trauma changed my whole life course as, due to my injuries, I was unable to work. I escaped boredom by pouring all of my free time into an old hobby, photography.
Photography helped me have the motivation to get up early in the morning instead of staying indoors feeling sorry for myself. I now capture the beauty in the world instead of feeling angry at the unfair hand life has dealt me. Photography has helped me come to terms with the new life I now lead, and has given me a new appreciation of how lucky I am to live every day enjoying the beauty of nature and I now want to share these stunning moments with you.
I go out in all weathers, usually around my local North Yorkshire countryside but also enjoy travelling across The UK. I have always thought my work was average and didn't stand out as the accident has really affected my self esteem. Recently, due to the fantastic support system around me I now feel confident enough to share my talents. Family, friends and other photographers have mentioned my keen eye and my unique angles, please judge for yourself by taking a look at my gallery.
